Give Away!

Last week I spent some time in my daughters elementary school visiting with the kindergarteners.
Their wonderful teachers read my new book; What is a Family, a Question and Answer book, to them and then the kiddos drew pictures of their own families. A few of the drawings are posted below, I love how kids draw and how they described their families to me afterwards. We are holding a give a way for a copy of the book AND fabric yardage. The print "everyone all together now" is below and will be sent out to the winner along with a copy of the book. To enter have your child (or yourself!) draw a picture of your own special family and post it on your blog and leave a comment with a link.
We will randomly pull a number on November 29th and announce the winner here!!

What is a Family: A Question and Answer Book

Hello! I am thrilled to share my newest children's book, "What is a Family, a question and answer book." This book is geared to be a read aloud book for young children who are learning what families are. A few years ago I was sitting in a preschool surrounded by happy little kids who were chattering about their homes and parents. We started talking about families and one little girl said; “What IS a family anyway?” I started asking the kids what they thought. Their answers were simple and sometimes surprising. Ranging from “The people you live with” to “Anyone you love” they all had an option about what a family really was. In my new book: What Is a Family? A question and answer book, I address some of these viewpoints. In a child’s view the people you love, the people you live with or love from afar, adults and other children they have fun and share their lives with are their family. In What Is a Family? the simple drawings show many kinds of families ranging from a single parent to a large multicultural family. This book reinforces the fact that regardless of how your family looks, what you do together or how many people are in it, what a family really is, is love.

Lets Play!

Hello everyone!

My second kids book was just released and I am SO excited to share it with you!

It all started with a list on a wall...

One bored kid.

Two exasperated parents.

A collection of favorite activities presented by zany animals.

In this little book, kids can choose a calm or active idea and enlist parents and caregivers in the fun. Activities are designated "red" or "blue" so parents can set the guidelines and let kids do the choosing.

With each activity lasting only around 15 minutes, you’re sure to be able to carve out the time to make lasting memories with your child.

Right now on if you are an amazon prime member the book is FREE!  I would love for you to check it out and let me know what you and your kids think!
